Hey guys, this is just a heads up for those of you hosting images on tinyurl.com:
"Tinypic is no longer accepting uploads from international locations, and links are turned off. If you have content on Tinypic, you can still view the URLs and the content, but only on Tinypic. To upload, share, or link content, please go to Photobucket.com to register an account. You will need to upload your content again to your Photobucket account, but you will be able to share and link your images and videos. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and hope that you enjoy Photobucket, our premier image and video site."
Which means those using Tinypic may want to upload their images elsewhere in order for international users to see all your items. Tinypic still works for US and Canadian users (not sure if there are others), however, your international buyers will not be able to see them.
I highly recommend Imageshack
instead for your advertising needs. Photobucket is okay. My only gripe is that they WILL resize your images if it's too large and their bulk uploader sucks. End of.
Also, while on the subject of images, I'd like to bring everyone's attention to the photos used for sale (this does not refer to shop banners).TO SELLERS
: All images not taken by YOU must be properly credited
(whether this is here in GSJ or your selling journal).
If it's a stock image, you're going to have to say it's a stock image. Buyers are ALLOWED to ask for proof of items before purchasing
. If they back out and all you had was a stock image (no proof you had the item), sorry bb, but you can't leave negative feedback for that buyer.
If it's an image taken by another user, as long as you have permission from the original owner
, you're free to use it without crediting. But if I get word that it's someone else's photos and are used without permission, you're not getting any sympathy from me.
